I don't like Yogi Bear

He's not a good role model for small kids because he steals "picinik" baskets....and he tries to be something he's not.

Neither do I like watching 3D. I don't get it why I have to pay extra ....The glasses look silly, it's uncomfortable and gives me a headache. It also makes the characters look smaller and the lighting so dim.

5 Things I have confirmed after watching Social Network

So Social Network got the 3 biggest awards from the Golden Globe tonight, best director, best screenplay and best picture. And with the Academy Awards record of best picture winners which are mostly somewhat socially relevant, this facebook movie may bag the Oscars again.

Here are 5 things I have confirmed after watching Social Network

1. Smart people talk really fast ( I wonder if the real Mark Zuckerberg talks that way)
2. Do not blog, tweet or even post a status on facebook when you’re drunk and angry
3. Success does not come without any sacrifice.
4. A bright idea is just an idea if you can’t make it happen. The one endowed with talent and intelligence to execute and evolve it into a better idea becomes the billionaire.
5. David Fincher is one of the best directors of this generation

My Black Swan Review

Ok due to insistent public demand.....heheheh... not really! ....But you say review, I review. I didn't write any spoilers, so spoiler haters you are safe to read this

First thing, don't ever watch this film drunk or don't get drunk while watching. If you don't want to believe me and still do it, I will just say "I told you so" when you find yourself needing to run to the nearest restroom to throw up because there's a lot of camera movements. But then you get used to it eventually. At first I thought it was handheld, but then I realized it was too steady to be a handheld and it takes a lot of skills to follow all those dancing, and bending and spinning.... So I got curious, I googled and found out that the director, Darrren Aronofsky's trademark is using the "Snorricam" a camera that is rigged to the body of the actor making their movement seem steady when everything else around them is not.

The grainy effect of the film, the dark lighting, the sound effects and music is a perfect combination of what the director was trying to achieve or make us percieve. From the very beginning you can see and feel the promise of a great Psychological Thriller that is about to give you the entertainment you are so looking for, if you are into this kind of genre. The colors, sound and all those montages give you a piece of what's going on inside the Nina's mind making you feel like you're part of it.

Weirdness and shock value? If you use me as a gauge, from a scale of 1-5....5 being the highest, I give it a 3....I've got a lot of OMG moments throughout the film but being a fan of foreign and indie films, I have seen worse. And the fact that I said "Oh my god!" instead of eeewww! yuck or gross is assurance enough that it is done in good taste....I said if you use me as a gauge. So if you don't trust my preference think twice before watching this. That is my disclaimer so don't blame me if you were grossed out or if you get too uncomfortable and you get nightmares after watching.

Natalie Portman did an outstanding job proving herself a good actress. It's nice to see Winona Ryder back on screen once again. They look so much alike so I'm not sure if Aronofsky did that on purpose to emphasize what Nina may possibly become.

Over all I give it 4 1/2 stars because Psychological Thriller is my favorite genre and this is psycho thriller done well. My rating for this movie is "Rated NE" not for everyone....For those who have seen it and are about to see it, post your comments. I'd like to find out if you enjoyed it like I did.

Elections 2010

This is one of those times i wish i have Pinoy TV. Kaka-bitin naman yung mga post of my media friends about the election on Facebook. But it's apparent, Noynoy would be the next Commander in Chief. Back in my Kapuso days I remember having breakfast with him at this restaurant in Tomas Morato that i forgot the name. We'll let's just say I was the assigned producer of his then girlfriend. I have yet to find out wether it's something to be proud of. Well he seems to be a good person, and promising too. With a hero as a father and a former President mom with a good track record (let's not talk about the youngest sister ok?) And I've never heard him being involved in corruption. He's been a politician for a while but his position never made him wealthier. I am just hoping that Noynoy is the change my birth country has long been waiting for. But as long as those filthy politicians are given a seat in office, the idea of change will remain profound. Does it have to take another dictator to get rid of them? I hope it does not! Noynoy's reign may not be the total change pinoys are looking for but at least i hope he'll give the country a good starting point. I guess it does not make sense to read this from someone who has left and and only plans to come back for short vactions. But I'd really love to see the Philippines shine for real.

Kuchiki Rukia

The heroine of the anime Bleach. I've always related myself to her. Short and reckless but will never back out of a fight or challenge. I haven't seen the series for almost 2 years. I wonder if i'll ever be able to keep up with the episodes.
